Bring Me The Maid is now on the third line of 2014 Golden Slipper betting and trainer Peter Moody believes that the in-form filly is a genuine winning chance in the Group 1 event at Rosehill Gardens this weekend.

Bring Me The Maid earned a place in the 2014 Golden Slipper field with a win in the Group 2 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on Saturday and her odds where immediately; with the betting support flowing for the Sebring filly heading into the $3.5 million race this weekend.
Moody told Racing Ahead this morning that he has been happy with the way that Bring Me The Maid had come through her tough win and revealed that he had done very little with the juvenile in the lead-up to the 2014 Golden Slipper this weekend.
“I think that she is a genuine chance,” Moody said.
“She has come off her race last week in great shape, she has drawn good and she is in great form.
“I haven’t done anything with her; she has trotted and cantered.
“I resisted the temptation; I promised myself last Saturday that I won’t train her this week so I can’t stuff it up.
“When I was doing the Thursday morning work sheets on Wednesday night I used the whiteout three times to make sure I didn’t give her a little gallop.
“I thought no, she doesn’t need it, she is happy, she has a smile on her face and that was the intention all week.
“She had a good long trot off the pony this morning and she goes in there in very good shape.”
Bring Me The Maid will jump from barrier five in the Golden Slipper tomorrow and Moody said that he is not desperate for jockey Chad Schofield to position the Magic Night Stakes winner at the front of the field.
Moody said that Bring Me The Maid had shown good acceleration when positioned towards the tail of the field in both the Listed Sports 1000 (1000m) at Flemington on March 1 and the Magic Night Stakes and sees no reason to chance her racing pattern this weekend.
“I thought that she would probably hold a spot around midfield,” Moody said.
“I’m not desperate to ride her up on the speed; she has very good speed, but I said to Chad that first day at Flemington that I wanted to see her back in behind them and show a turn-of-foot that would get her home and she did that.
“She had no joy at the Valley and if anything she was a tad too close then.
“The other day she ended up further back than what we intended, so I don’t think we will be looking to turn that upside down.
“If she could settle seventh or eighth, five off them, I think that you would be happy.”
Bring Me The Maid is on the third line of 2014 Golden Slipper betting markets, at odds of $11, behind Blue Diamond Stakes winner Earthquake ($2.50) and Mossfun ($5).
