Bribie will attempt to recreate the performance of older brother Woorim when he runs at tomorrow’s midweek meeting in Doomben.

The Show A Heart gelding is a full brother to Woorim, who gave trainer Robert Heathcote his first Group 1 win in the Oakleigh Plate last Saturday.

Heathcote is confident that Bribie can take out tomorrow’s restricted handicap.

Bribie was due to run at Eagle Farm two weeks ago, but was a late scratching from the field after casting his leg on the stalls pre-race.

“Bribie is clearly the pick of my chances tomorrow,” Heathcote said.

“It was totally out of character when he had to be scratched last time after flipping over.

“I was forced to send him to Deagon for a soft barrier trial last week before the stewards would let him start again and he trialled great.

“I even put him in the barriers this morning at Eagle Farm and he stood there like he was reading the paper.”

Bribie has won two of his eight race starts and has earnt more than $21,000 in prize money.

While the four-year-old hasn’t produced the wins Woorim has, Heathcote insists he is a talented galloper.

“The pressure is on him now to try and live up to his brother who is a Group One winner,” he said.

Woorim currently remains in Melbourne, where he will stay until he competes in the Group 1 Newmarket Handicap on March 10 at Flemington.

Heathcote’s other flag bearer Buffering will go on to the Group 1 William Reid Stakes after his gallant third place effort behind Black Caviar and Hay List in the Lightning Stakes.

“Woorim will stay on in Melbourne after the Newmarket while Buffering runs in the (Group One) William Reid Stakes,” Heathcote said.
