OTI Racing, who race the son of Savabeel, confirmed the news on twitter this morning.

“Unfortunately Brambles has suffered tendon injury. It’s severity is still to be fully assessed but Autumn for him is out,” the offical OTI Racing account tweeted.

It comes as another hit for connections who saw him miss the entire spring carnival after he suffered a bout of travel sickness when travelling from Brisbane to Melbourne.

Before the illness Brambles was considered to be a potential Caulfield Cup contender after announcing himself as one of the country’s most promising stayers in Brisbane during the winter.

After a first-up third in the Group 3 Gunsynd Classic, the son of Savabeel recorded three consecutive wins in the Group 3 Rough Habit Plate, the Group 3 Grand Prix Stakes and the Group 1 Queensland Derby.
