Hall Of Fame’s latest inductee jockey Glen Boss is looking to score another goal with Scissor Kick in the Group 1 $750,000 James Boag’s Premium Doomben 10,000 (1350m) at Doomben today.

Boss was inducted in to the Racing Hall Of Fame during the week and as well as winning most of the Group 1 races on the Australian Racing Calendar, one of his greatest feats was winning the Melbourne Cup three times on the mighty mare Makybe Diva in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
But the Doomben 10,000 is not on Boss’ resume and he would like to rectify that this afternoon.
“I think I’ve got this horse worked out how to ride him,” Boss told The Courier-Mail.
“I’ve been watching him for quite a while, so hopefully I can get it right on the day.
“He hasn’t had any luck. That horse is dying to win a good race. He’s been so close.
Boss has been watching the Paul Messara trained colt for some time and was elated when he secured the ride in the Doomben 10,000.
“If you go back through his form, most of his runs against the top horses have been awesome. He’s a beautiful colt just itching to win a big race,” Boss said.
“In the BTC Cup, he got driven up, then shuffled back. Of all the horses that missed the kick in the race, he was the only one that found the line. He kept grinding to the line like a nice horse.
“I made the call to try and ride him and I’m pretty rapt to be on him.”
Scissor Kick is well in the betting for the Doomben 10,000 at Ladbrokes.com.au at $7.50 and the three year old is coming off two very good runs against the older horses at weight for age.
The Redoute’s Choice colt only had one run during the Sydney Autumn Carnival for a one length fourth to Dissident in the Group 1 $400,000 Schweppes All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on April 18.
Then at his first Queensland start Scissor Kick was slow to leave the barriers before finishing two and half lengths fifth to Hot Snitzel in the Group 1 $500,000 UBET BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben a fortnight ago.
BTC Cup failure Srikandi still has plenty of followers and is on top of the market order at $5.50, just ahead to the well supported Generalife at $6.50.
Our Boy Malachi at $8.50 and Bring Me The Maid at $9 are the only other runners under double figures.
