Singapore based jockey Glen Boss will fly into Sydney to ride lightweight chance Antonio Giuseppe in the Group 1 $750,000 McGrath Estate Agents Metropolitan (2400m) at Randwick on Saturday.

Promising stayer Antonio Giuseppe has been handicapped on the minimum 50kg and will be one of six horses trainer Chris Waller will saddle up in the feature staying event of the Sydney Spring Carnival.
Waller’s other runners in The Metropolitan will be Grand Marshall (Craig Williams), Junoob (Craig Newitt), Sacred Master (Tommy Berry), Storm The Stars (Benton Avdulla) and Who Shot Thebarman (Hugh Bowman).
Boss has ridden nineteen winners in Singapore the season and is excited to be riding back in Australian on Epsom – Metropolitan Day.

The former Kiwi trained four year old has won his last four starts under the guidance of Waller and will be a genuine light weight chance even though he is stepping straight up to Group 1 company following his win last Saturday in a 2000m BenchMark 78 Handicap At Rosehill with 59kg for apprentice Koby Jennings.
Antonio Giuseppe starting his winning run taking iur a mid-week 1550m BenchMark 67 Handicap at Canterbury on August 10 and then quickly progressed to Saturday company with a win in a 1500m BenchMark 82 Handicap at Rosehill on August 27.
The Shocking four year old then stepped up in distance to 1800m to record a nose win in BenchMark 78 Handicap at Rosehill again before scoring an impressive two and three quarter lengths win last Saturday.
Boss has ridden the winner of The Metropolitan on two previous occasions, saluting on the Gai Waterhouse trained Eletronic in 1995 and on Bedouin from the John O’Shea stable in 2003.
Boss is currently licensed to ride In Singapore until December 31 this year and has won more than seventy Group 1 races, among them were the three consecutive Melbourne Cups on the champion mare Makybe Diva in 2003, 2004 and 2005.
