Glen Boss was inducted into the Australian Racing Hall Of Fame last night and he is hoping that he can cap off a stellar week with a victory in the 2015 Doomben 10,000 in Brisbane tomorrow.

Tye Angland has been the regular rider of Scissor Kick for the majority of his racing career and he steered the Redoute’s Choice colt to credible performances in the Group 1 All Aged Stakes (1400m) at Royal Randwick on April 18 and the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) at Doomben on May 9, but Boss has been given the opportunity to ride the three-year-old for the first time in the Doomben 10,000.
Boss believes that Scissor Kick has the ability to win the Doomben 10,000 and he said that he would love to celebrate his Hall Of Fame induction by winning his maiden Doomben 10,000 for owner John Messara just over 20 years after he steered Flying Spur to victory in the 1995 Golden Slipper for the Arrowfield Stud boss.
“He is a very good colt this bloke and he is busting to win a good race,” Boss said.
“I am pretty happy with the draw because I think that I have it pretty much worked out how I want to ride him and if I can get the ride sort of run on him, which I am pretty confident that I can do, I am confident that he can run well.
“I haven’t won a 10,000 and it would be nice to cap off what has been a great week for me by winning a Doomben 10,000 in those colours for John Messara.
“It has been 20 years since I won the Golden Slipper wearing those colours and it would be freaky to do it on this weekend.”
Boss has ridden in the Doomben 10,000 on ten occasions, but the third place finish of Bint Marscay in 1994 was his best effort in the Group 1 event, while he missed the placings with Rebel Dane (fourth in 2014), Unearthly (13th in 2004), Staging (seventh in 2000), Rose O’War (ninth in 1999), Rouslan (seventh in 1995), Blondin (fifth in 1993), Whale Of A Knight (12th in 1992), Be Able (13th in 1991) and Count Henri in 1990.
Scissor Kick is currently available at 2015 Doomben 10,000 odds of $7.50 with Ladbrokes and he is on the third line of betting behind Srikandi ($5.50) and Generalife ($6.50).
