Boss Given The All Clear For 2012

Glen Boss appears on track to meet his self imposed deadline of returning to the racecourse in the first week of January.

Boss made it clear he wanted to be back in action from the very start of 2012 as he looks to move on from a disastrous end to 2011.

Doctor’s have given him the clearance he needed to achieve that goal and it’s now only a matter of time until G. Boss is spotted in the race book again.

The top jockey has made remarkable recovery from a badly broken shoulder sustained when Crystal Lily’s suffer a lethal heart attack and fell heavily during routine track work.

The injury took plenty of pins, screws and a large metal plate to put back together but the strength has returned and the hunger is bigger than ever.

Boss will begin in January with trackwork but has previously indicated that it will then only be a matter of days before he’s back race riding.

He will return during a period where a number of notable riders are making comebacks.

Peter Robl started up again a few weeks ago after a year out with suspension, the same as Blake Shinn will do at Sandown tomorrow.

Kerrin McEvoy is due to return after a month ban when he rides at Wyong on Thursday while Jim Cassidy is due at Canterbury on Saturday after copping five weeks for excessive use of the whip.

While not as prominent as some of these riders Marlon Dolendo will probably hold rights to the most remarkable comeback when he starts up again at Port Macquarie following a life saving kidney transplant back in August.
