Gai Waterhouse’s promising stayer Bohemian Lily is well into her Spring Carnival preparation with the Group 1 $3m Caulfield Cup (2400m) at Caulfield on October 17 high on the agenda.

Bohemian Lily has returned to work at Tulloch Lodge following a Queensland Winter Carnival campaign that had to be cut short because of a minor leg injury.
Waterhouse has a very high opinion of the rising four year mare and is very pleased with the way she is progressing on the training tracks.
Waterhouse’s number one jockey Tommy Berry has been aboard Bohemian Lily in some of her early morning workouts and gave her the thumbs up following her gallop this morning.
“Tommy Berry’s best of the morning was the Caulfield Cup hopeful Bohemian Lily who worked over 1200m. This filly has come back from QLD in terrific fashion and she is warming up for a huge spring preparation. She clearly has the ability to mix it with the best fillies and mares in the land at 2000m and beyond,” Waterhouse wrote in her trackwork report on her website.
Bohemian Lily took little time to hit the headlines in Queenslannd during the Winter Carnival when she scored an impressive win against the fillies in the Listed $125,000 Border Security Services Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) at the Gold Coast on April 25.
The O’Reilly filly then ran second to Ballet Suite in the Listed $100,000 City Property Services Princess Stakes (2000m) at Doomben on May 9 before returning to the winner’s circle in the Group 2 $175,000 URBIS The Roses (2020m) at Doomben on May 23.
Bohemian Lily was then installed as one of the favourites for the Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Casino & Hotel Queensland Oaks (2200m) at Doomben on May 30 but had to be withdrawn on race eve after injuring her elbow.
The Chris Waller trained Winx went on to score an emphatic three and a half lengths win in the Queensland Oaks from the Robert Smerdon trained Ungrateful Ellen and Imperial Lass from the Peter Moody stable.
