The 2018 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes results will be found all afternoon at horseracing.com.au and can’t wait for what is set to be a simply outstanding day of racing at Caulfield!

There are three Group 1 events at Caulfield this afternoon and all three of them are highly competitive betting races.

The Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes is the feature race and there is a case to be made that this is the most open edition of the race in history.

Long Leaf is currently on top of the 2018 Blue Diamond Stakes with Ladbrokes at a price of $6, but there has also been support for Ennis Hill ($6.50), Plague Stone ($7.50), Prairie Fire ($9) and Written By ($9.50).

It is Brave Smash that is currently on top of the 2018 Futurity Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes at $3.80, but there has been a move for Tosen Stardom ($4.60), Mighty Boss ($6) and Showtime ($6.50).

The Ladbrokes Oakleigh Plate is the final race of the afternoon and it is Russian Revolution ($4.20) that is a clear favourite to return to the races with another Group 1 victory.

Race 1 (12:30pm) – $120,000 Listed Ladbrokes Mornington Cup Prelude Results

Homesman upstaged Almandin to make a winning start to his Australian racing career in the 2018 Ladbrokes Mornington Cup Prelude.

Damien Oliver peeled Almandin out at the top of the straight and he looked as though he would finish over the top of Homesman, but Homesman fought back in the final stages to record tough win.

Co-owner Nick Williams confirmed after the race that Homesman and Almandin are both likely to head to the 2018 Australian Cup.

Race 2 (1:05pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Autumn Classic (1800m)

A simply outstanding ride from Regan Bayliss helped Valiant Spirit record an upset win in the 2018 Autumn Classic.

Bayliss took up on the running on Valiant Spirit and he pinched a massive gap on the field coming into the straight.

Astoria ran on strongly as Valiant Spirit tired late, but Bayliss had done enough and Valiant Spirit claimed the biggest win of his career to date.

Overshare returned to winning form with a classy win in the 2018 Ladbrokes Zeditave Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

The I Am Invincible colt was not beaten far when second behind Cliff’s Edge in the Manfred Stakes and he was ready to peak third-up in the Zeditave Stakes.

Dwayne Dunn timed his run to perfection on Overshare and he claimed his first win since he took out the McKenzie Stakes at The Valley last year.

Summer Sham led from start to finish to record a tough win in the 2018 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Summer Sham showed incredible gate speed and jockey Daniel Moor was happy to take advantage and ensured that the race was run at a genuine tempo.

Palazzo Vecchio flew home in the final stages, but Summer Sham had done enough and held-on to claim a maiden black-type win.

Silent Sedition returned to winning form with a dominant effort in the Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

There was a big drift for Silent Sedition in the lead-up to the Mannerism Stakes, but Craig Williams was able to take up the running and control the race.

Samovare challenged Silent Sedition at the top of the straight, but Silent Sedition kicked clear of her rival to claim a classy win.

Brave Smash claimed a maiden Group 1 with a stellar performance in the 2018 Futurity Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Craig Williams looked as though he could get blocked for a run on Brave Smash at the top of the straight, but a gap appeared and the Japanese sprinter took advantage.

Brave Smash showed most impressive acceleration when he was asked for an extra effort and he held-off Tosen Stardom to record a most impressive win.

Written By was far too good for his rivals in the 2018 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

There was plenty of money for Written By in the lead-up to the Blue Diamond Stakes and it proved to be bang-on as the son of Written Tycoon was nothing short of dominant.

Written By had the race won a long way from home and could now head to the 2018 Golden Slipper as a leading contender.

Russian Revolution maintained his perfect first-up record with a tough victory in the 2018 Ladbrokes Oakleigh Plate.

Mark Zahra was caught wide on Russian Revolution right on the speed and he was forced to do plenty of work in the early stages of the race.

Snitty Kitty proved tough to run down for Russian Revolution and there were a host of horses flying down the outside, but Russian Revolution hit the front at the right time to claim another Group 1 win.

Gailo Chop led from start to finish to take out the 2018 Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Mark Zahra wasted no time taking Gailo Chop to the front in the early stages of the Peter Young Stakes and that proved to be the winning move.

Gailo Chop will now head to the 2018 Australian Cup and should prove very tough to beat.
