A Blue Diamond start is off the agenda for Black Caviar’s half brother All Too Hard after he scored a soft debut win in the Listed $100,000 Talindert Stakes (1100m) at Flemington today.

Wayne Hawkes representing Team Hawkes at Flemington said that All Too Hard won’t be backing up in the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield next week after producing a very professional first up win.

“I very much doubt  that he will backing up in the Blue Diamond next week,” Hawkes said.

“Whether we go back to Sydney now, there’s races like the The Sires and the Champagne and that. He’s not the sort of horse to be backing up week to week. Its not in this bloke’s nature to start doing that.”

Hawkes said that All Too Hard would be better suited over more ground when he matures but at this stage a trip to Sydney  for the feature two year races could be on the cards.

Jockey Dwayne Dunn had All Too Hard ($2.90 fav) travelling sweetly midfield after a clean getaway and relaxed midfield before making a move at 600m.

The Casino Prince colt had the race won at the 300m when Dunn gave him a little shake up and scored easily by one and a half lengths from Liberty Rock (Luke Nolen) and Timely Truce (Damien Oliver).

Dunn said that All Too Hard felt like a lovely horse underneath him and would make a good three year old.

“He’ nice and raw and he’s a solid horse and we think he’s going to be solid three year old so to do that today was very good,” Dunn said.

“Once I put the stick on him and asked him for an effort he put them away quickly and pinned his ears back  and really wanted to run to the line.”

Dunn rated All Too Hard up with the best two year olds he has ridden and said he would be following him wherever Team Hawkes decide to take him.
