Peter Moody has pulled the pin on Black Caviar’s autumn campaign with the unbeaten mare to take her 19 race winning streak to the paddock.

There were hopes she’d appear for one more run to grab number 20 in this Saturday’s Futurity Stakes at Caulfield but that’s been shafted in the best interests of the horse.

Also on the scrapheap is the Newmarket Handicap as well as any Dubai trip with Moody wanting to give her a full two month break.

Moody says there are no issues at all with the horse and that’s exactly why she’s going to the paddock now.

Every piece of 2012 is about gearing her towards Royal Ascot and that’s foremost in Moody’s mind.

Even now he’s thinking about the best lead in to the June 23rd feature and Adelaide and Brisbane are shaping as the front running options.

The team have made no secret about their desire to grab win 20 on Australian soil and either the Robert Sangster Stakes over 1200m at Morphettville on April 28 or the Goodwood a fortnight later are the South Australian options.

Brisbane hasn’t been ruled out though with Black Caviar potentially coming back to defend her BTC Cup title at Doomben on May 12.

There’s even a chance she runs twice in Australia before boarding the plane to England as Moody is keen to have her at full fitness before she leaves.

Either way she’ll definitely by flying out of Melbourne with Moody wanting to give her at least 2.5 weeks at his Caulfield stables before leaving.

That’s the reason she’s not going to Dubai, Moody isn’t keen on having her away from home for the four months that trip would require.

With her autumn racing campaign over don’t expect Black Caviar fever to subside too much over the coming weeks though.

The battle between Brisbane and Adelaide is now on and both race clubs will be offering everything they possibly can to secure Black Caviar’s going away party on their turf.
