Black Caviar has been confirmed a definite starter for the Group 1 $1m Darley T J Smith (1200m) at Randwick on April 13.

Following a meeting with trainer Peter Moody, Black Caviar’s group of owners voted on the unbeaten Queen Of The Turf heading to Sydney in search of win number twenty-five.
Black Caviar will be looking to make it two T J Smith wins after beating rival Hay List in a memorable clash in the 2011 weight for age sprint at her only appearance in Sydney.
But a return trip to England to defend her crown in the Group 1 £400,000 The Diamond Jubilee Stakes (6 furlongs) at Royal Ascot on June 22 hasn’t been ruled out.
“It means we will definitely be going to the T J Smith and from the T J it can go to wherever we want to go,” senior part owner Neil Werrett said.
Once Sydney is over, the Black Caviar team will have to then decide if she heads to Brisbane, a return trip to Adelaide or to Royal Ascot.
“We can go to Brisbane, Adelaide or Ascot. All the owners wanted to clear with Pete where she is up to,” Werret said.
“Pete said the horse is fit, well and ready to go. We all want to come to Sydney.
“I have been waiting two years to get her back to Sydney. I’m not trying to stop the horse coming back.”
“Peter said there is no use planning to far ahead; she is a race to race proposition. We don’t want to say we are going here, there and everywhere.”
“The options are we go to Adelaide, Brisbane, Ascot, retire or race on in the spring.
“It is going to be a sad day when we retire her, but we know it’s getting close and we don’t want to go one run too many. She has done a fantastic job for us and racing and we want to look after.”
Black Caviar once again made her opposition look second rate with a four length victory in the Group 1 $400,000 Hacer Group William Reid Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley last Friday night taking her unbeaten record to twenty-four straight wins.
The William Reid victory took the great mare’s Group 1 wins to fourteen, joining the legendary Kingston Town’s long standing record and pushed her overall prizemoney to over $7.3 million from her twenty-four wins.
