Black Caviar's next race will be in the Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield

It looked like it could become a farce but at least Black Caviar will be made to do a little bit of work if she hopes to win the 2011 Schillaci Stakes at Caulfield this Saturday.

Sure the quality of horse probably isn’t there but at least the numbers are with a total of nine to contest the Group 2 1000m contest.

Black Caviar stands out like a sore thumb in the ratings, she sits at 128 nearly 30 more than her closest rival.

Unsurprisingly the second highest rated runner is also trained by Peter Moody, Kulgrinda (99), as he looks for a quinella in one of the most anticipated races of the day.

The other horses of note in the field are Stirling Grove, Eight Bills as well as the grey Platinum Skye.

Perhaps the biggest danger to Moody though is found at the bottom of the field in the form of three year old filly Karuta Queen.

Trainer Neville Layt called out Black Caviar more than two weeks ago and said he was coming to Caulfield to run her off her legs.

There’s no doubt Karuta Queen has lightning early speed and Black Caviar will have to fire off a decent final 600m sectional to run her down.

If Karuta Queen gets it all her own way out in front and Black Caviar finds trouble back in the field who knows what could happen in such a short event.

Black Caviar has barrier five for the 2011 Schillaci Stakes while Karuta Queen will start wide from gate eight.
