Black Caviar Officially Brisbane Bound

Black Caviar & Peter Moody

Peter Moody will bring his champion mare Black Caviar to Brisbane

Peter Moody has confirmed that his super mare Black Caviar will be making her way to Queensland for the Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival next month.

The trainer gave the thumbs up to a winter campaign after inspecting the world’s best racehorse yesterday.

Black Caviar will now embark on a two race assault that will include the Group 1 BTC Cup (1200m) on May 14 and the Group 1 Doomben 10,000 (1350m) on May 28, 2011.

There was initial concern that Peter Moody would not bring Black Caviar to Brisbane due to an Australia-wide suspension of air transport, however, the trainer now plans to float her up.

“That won’t matter, I do it often with lots of my horses,” Moody said.

“Sure the initial plan was to fly her for experience ahead of a possible trip to Hong Kong later in the year but I am happy to send her by road.”

If all goes well Black Caviar will be giving Queenslanders the opportunity to witness her claim her 13th and 14th unbeaten victory when she takes to the track next month.

“Barring an incident between now and then, she’s going to Brisbane … it’s just a matter of when,” Moody said.
