Black Caviar has completed her final trackwork at Caulfield this morning before her long awaited trip to England on Wednesday.

The five-year-old mare pleased jockey Luke Nolen as she easily travelled the set 1,00 metre gallop.

Nolen is looking to keep Black Caviar at her best for the flight over to the United Kingdom, which is a point of concern for the jockey.

“Actually she is not the best traveller, but she has done a fair bit of it and she has got a lot better,” he said.

“She has a long, long flight and she is going to be in that same horse float for the best part of thirty hours, so we are going to find out if she is going to travel or not.

“We are giving her a decent old go at it.”

The Australian Queen of the turf had her final Australian hit-out on a rain affected track, which proved no worries for the striking mare.

“She worked nicely over 1000m and she did the last 600m quite stylishly under testing conditions this morning,” Nolen said.

“She trotted down good and I was very happy with her.”

Black Caviar is currently unbeaten over her 21 Australian career starts and will attempt to achieve victory number 22 in the Grade 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes at Royal Ascot Racecourse on Saturday June 23.

The Bel Esprit mare is also pencilled in for a start in the July Cup at Newmarket racecourse three weeks later.

Nolen will travel to England to ride Black Caviar in her overseas conquest and may give the mare another track gallop prior to her next race start on the other side of the world.

“She is pretty close to the mark definitely and that was where Peter (Moody) wanted her before she got onto the plane,” he said.

“There is just a little bit extra to just help her over the plane ride and if need be she will have one gallop before she lines up in the Golden Jubilee.”
