Tommy Berry has been in Singapore all week at the bedside of Nathan who has been diagnosed with NORSE Syndrome and lies in a coma in a Singapore hospital.

Berry dedicated the win on the Gai Waterhouse trained stayer to Nathan and will return to Singapore with his father Kevin to continue his bedside support on Monday.

“It was a hard decision to come back here today. I’ve been beside Nathan for over a week now. He is the strongest person I have ever met and I knew that he wanted me to come back today,” Tommy Berry said.

“This is my job. I can do it in my sleep. I had great support from Gai and Mark Newnham (foreman).”

Berry had The Offer travelling in third sport behind the leaders Opinion and Tremec and after he eased the gelding out three wide on the home turn, The Offer ($2.50) showed his liking for the heavy track and ran away to score an easy win over Opinion ($2.40 favourite) with Jim Cassidy who tried to lead all of the way and Tremec ($21) fought on for third in the wet conditions.

Waterhouse will now head towards Group 1 $1m Schweppes Sydney Cup (3200m) at Randwick on April 19 with the Irish import.
