Jockey Tommy Berry maintained his perfect record on Nobby Snip with a win in the Listed $100,000 McGrath Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Randwick today.

Berry has had four rides on the Gai Waterhouse trained three year old for four wins and is sure there is many more to come after a top performance under 58.5kg.

Berry stuck with Nobby Snip after scoring on the Snippetson gelding last start at Rosehill when he beat Didntcostalot who set up a solid pace again but faded in the straight.

“Four rides, four wins, Very happy to get the ride back on him again ,”

“He has done that all along,” Berry said of Nobby Snip wanting to lay back into the fence.

“He got to the front quite early today and ducked in and that’s something that Gai will have to address back home. In bigger and better races you can’t afford to be making mistakes like that.”

“But he’s becoming quite a nice horse and that was a good win today.”

Nobby Snip travelled well for Berry just behind the leaders and once the favourite moved to the front at the 300m rolled back to the inside which was still the best part of the track.

Waterhouse predicted that she would run the quinella and wasn’t let down when Niagara ran home strongly for Nash Rawiller to run second a half length away.

Waterhouse was just as excited with the run of Nigara as well as the winner Nobby Snip.

“Didn’t Nigara run sensationally, He’s a big burly colt and he really attacked the line,” Waterhouse said.

“You can’t take anything away from the winner, he just skips through it doesn’t he.”
