Tommy Berry and Glyn Schofield will both miss the rich Coolmore Classic race day at Rosehill on Saturday after flying out to Singapore to be with Nathan Berry who took ill earlier in the week.

Tommy Berry, Nathan’s twin brother and Schofield, the father of Nathan’s new bride Whitney, flew out to Singapore this morning to find out first hand his condition after he suffered seizures after being admitted to hospital with viral encephalitis.
Nathan Berry was riding on a wave of success and after winning the $2m Magic Millions 2yo Classic (1200m) at the Gold Coast in January on Unencumbered successfully started his riding contract for the Singapore Turf Club, including two winners last Sunday.
“Nathan is doing ok. He is getting treatment now,” Tommy Berry posted on Twitter earlier in the week.
“Unfortunately Nathan has had another Seizure but it is very common for that to happen with the virus he has got.
“Thank you to everyone for their concern, he is in great hands with the best medical staff.”
Nathan Berry was due to make a flying visit back to Australia on Saturday to ride Unencumbered in the Group 2 $300,000 The Other Woman Todman Stakes (1200m) and then onto the Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on April 5.
But after he collapsed at trackwork on Tuesday morning, Tommy Berry was called in by trainer Bjorn Baker to replace his brother in the Todman Stakes.
But with his the mercy dash to Singapore, Unencumbered will now be ridden by Craig Williams on Saturday.
Tommy Berry has also had to give up his two Group 1 rides for Gai Waterhouse with James McDonald taking over on Sweet Idea in the Group 1 $600,000 Coolmore Classic (1500m) and Kerrin McEvoy getting the call up for Carlton House in the Group 1 $500,000 Ranvet Stakes (2000m).
The replacement for Waterhouse’s other runners are Chad Schofield on Sheezalady in the Group 2 $300,000 Parramatta Leagues Club Reisling Stakes (1200m), Tim Clark on Ecuador in the Group 2 $175,000 Hyland Race Colours Ajax Stakes (1500m) and Nash Rawiller on Liberty’s Choice in the Group 2 $175,000 Cellarbrations Phar Lap Stakes (1500m).
And Craig Newitt has picked up the ride on Shivarchi in the Group 3 $150,000 Bacardi Untameable Stakes (1100m).
Blake Shinn has replaced Schofield on Arinosa in the Coolmore Classic while Nash Rawiller takes over on That’s A Good Idea in the Untameable Stakes, Brendon Avdulla on Lucky Raquie in the Reisling Stakes, Craig Williams on Let’s Make A Deal in the Sky High Stakes and Jim Cassidy on Marmello in the Phar Lap Stakes.
