Trainer Daniel Bowman had nominated Begood Toya Mother for three races on Saturday, the Memsie Stakes and the $125,000 Open Handicap (1400m) at Caulfield as well as the Listed $100,000 Penny Edition Stakes (1400m) at Morphettville Parks in Adelaide.

Begood Toya Mother scored his sixth win since March with an all the way victory in the Listed $140,000 Regal Roller Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on August 17 and Bowman is prepared to give the five year old his chance against Group 1 weight for age company in the Memsie Stakes.

“Deep down I feel the horse is six to 12 months from being ready for weight-for-age,” Bowman told Racenet.

“But what if I’m wrong and he’s ready now? There’s only one way to find out.”

The early entries for the Memsie Stakes is stacked with quality and includes Group 1 winners Alizee, Hartnell, Black Heart Bart, Kenedna and last year’s winner Humidor.

Begood Toya Mother is fairly prominent in the Memsie Stakes betting at Ladbrokes.com.au at $10 while the James Cummings trained Alizee sits at the top of the market order at $2.80.
