Beaded has won the major race at Doomben today, out-bobbing Love Conquers All on the line to win the $650,000 Doomben 10,000.

The win was the first Group 1 for Beaded, whose racing career has gone from success to success.

The five-year-old mare has won nine of her 19 starts and has only finished outside the placings on one occasion; when she finished fourth in last year’s Stradbroke Handicap by half a length.

Trainer Peter Snowden was ecstatic that his favourite horse was able to claim the Group 1 he felt she deserved.

“It was fantastic finish,” Snowden said.

Snowden had not prepared Beaded to be at her best for today’s race, however, upon learning of Hay List’s scratching he quickly attempted to “tighten the screws”.

“I said to (jockey Corey Brown) this filly is a touch underdone today,” Snowden said.

“She probably just weakened the last 50 metres.”

Snowden said he favours Beaded over his other talented horses because she always gives her best.

“She’s just a no frills horse,” he said.

“She’s by Lonhro which is a plus.”

Jockey Corey Brown won his sixth Group 1 of the season for his sixth trainer on Beaded today, however, was worried he had asked her to go too early.

“I pushed her button a little bit early,” he said.

“She did nothing in the run but when she started sprinting I thought it was all over.”

Brown said that Beaded deserved full credit for her gutsy run.

“She ran in a perfect position,” Brown said.

“It was just the perfect run race for her.

“She’s got the biggest heart, she gives 110%.”

Black Piranha put in a fantastic run to finish third behind Beaded and Love Conquers All, and his jockey Hugh Bowman believes he is on track to win his third Stradbroke Handicap on June 11.

“He’s right on song, he feels enormous,” Bowman said.

“Come the Stradbroke he’ll be right on song.”

Howdy just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your article seem to be running off the screen in Opera. I’m not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with web browser compatibility but I figured I’d post to let you know. The design look great though! Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Thanks

It is really good post, but I don’t see everything completely clear, especially for someone not involved with that topic. Anyway very interesting in my experience.
