Australian Bloodstock will have another imported stayer heading towards the 2014 Melbourne Cup after they acquired Group 2 winner Terrubi.

Terrubi had eight starts in France when prepared by Pascal Bary and stamped himself as a stayer to watch with a string of impressive performances this season.
Terrubi started his campaign with a narrow win in the Prix De La Porte De Madrid (2400m) at Saint Cloud on March 30 and he made his debut at Group level with a narrow second in the Prix De Barbeville at Longchamp on April 27.
The Dalakhani entire finished in the placings in the Group 2 Prix Vicomtesse Vigier (3100m) at Longchamp on May 25 before scored his maiden victory at Group level with a win over 2013 Melbourne Cup runner Brown Panther in the Group 2 Prix Maurice De Nieuil (2800m) on July 13.
Australian Bloodstock have confirmed that Terrubi would join fellow imported stayer on a path towards the Group 1 Caulfield Cup (2400m) on October 18 and the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) at Flemington on November 4 and said in a statement that he was thrilled to acquire the progressive stayer without breaking the bank.
“Rather than seek horses which are already well exposed and paying ridiculous money, we are focusing on lightly-raced stock and qualifying them for our feature races before bringing them to Australia,” Murrell said.
“Financially it is more viable and recent results for us in Europe would indicate this direction has merit going forward.
“We were able to complete the purchase of Terrubi prior to him winning the Group 2 at Longchamp last weekend and it certainly gave the owners a massive thrill as this race not only helped qualify the horse for the Cups this year, but also enhanced his stallion appeal.”
Terrubi, who will be prepared by Australian Derby winner trainer David Payne in Australia, is set to have his final European race start in the Group 2 Prix Kergorlay (3000m) at Deauville on August 24 before heading to Newmarket in the England to complete his quarantine requirements.
Singing and Terrubi will arrive in Australia at the end of September with the first group of European stayers that are set to contest the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival and will join their new trainers are spending two weeks at the Werribee International Horse Centre.
Terrubi is currently available at 2014 Caulfield Cup odds of $21 at Ladbrokes Australia and is at the same quote to win the 2014 Melbourne Cup.
