Aussie Beadman Battling But Upbeat

Despite a horrible run of luck Darren Beadman, arguably Australia’s best jockey export, is expected to be finefor the Dubai World Cup metting in Meydan this weekend.

Beadman almost had his leg crushed after it was pinned against the starting stalls when his horse reared subsequent to being kicked by another runner.

Whilst causing a fair bit of pain in caused no serious injury, but added to his woes after an incident the week before where his left leg was injured in an accident during a seemingly routine trackwork session.

“I’ve been in the wars a bit, but I’ll get the physio onto it and I’ll be all right for Dubai,” Beadman said.

There’s no way he was going to let it stand in his way when he has such a great opportunity on board Dim Sum in a prestigious Group 1 race.

He won’t be the only Australian in the field either with Brett Prebble also getting a start riding Green Birdie.

For the record Dim Sum will jump from gate two whilst Green Birdie has barrier 10 for the US $2 million race.
