Atomic Force Awaits Hong Kong Sprint Invitation

Owners of impressive galloper Atomic Force are eagerly awaiting the release of the Hong Kong Sprint field next month.

Atomic Force is in contention for a start in the prestigious race, however, his place in the field is not yet secure.

Only seven international runners will be invited to take a place in the 1,200 metre race on December 11, and syndicator Dean Watt is hopeful Atomic Force’s name will be amongst them.

“The horse has met all the criteria and we deliberately came home early from Melbourne to get him ready (for Hong Kong),” Watt said.

However, Watt has put a back-up plan in place that would see Atomic Force travel to New Zealand to contest the Group 1 Railway Stakes two weeks later.

“If the Hong Kong trip doesn’t go ahead we’ll take him to New Zealand for the Railway Stakes,” Watt said.

“At set weights with penalties it is an ideal race for him.

“It’s not too much to keep him in work for New Zealand because the Railway is only two weeks after the Hong Kong race.”

Atomic Force gave his connections something to be excited about when he stormed home to win his latest trial at Rosehill with jockey Nash Rawiller aboard.

“After the trial Nash said he would go anywhere to ride him,” Watt said.

“He really went super. Normally he doesn’t show much in his trials so that’s why everyone is so happy with the way he went.”
