Trainer Mark Kavanagh has confirmed that comeback queen Atlantic Jewel will line up in either the Group 2 $300,000 Dato’ Tan Chin Nam Stakes (1600m) or the Group 2 $220,000 W H Stocks Stakes (1600m) at Moonee Valley next Saturday.

Kavanagh has reported that Atlantic Jewel has pulled up well after her stunning win in the Group 1 $350,000 New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield last week.
The new Queen Of The Turf was having her first run for sixteen months after suffering a tendon injury, but breezed around Caulfield like she had been there forever.
Atlantic Jewel treated her opposition with contempt as Michael Rodd let her cruise to the line to record her eighth win from eight starts and her third Group 1 victory.
“She’s fabulous. She races next Saturday,” Kavanagh said.
“She’s going to Moonee Valley.”
“We are happy with her progress and will be back at the track next Saturday all being well.”
Kavanagh has scheduled a gallop for Saturday morning and will push forward through the Spring Carnival with the Group 1 $3m Sportingbet Cox Plate (2040m) at Moonee Valley on October 26 her main goal.
Atlantic Jewel’s sensation return to the racetrack has seen her Cox Plate price shorten and she is now a $2.90 dominant favourite for the weight for age championship of Australasia.
Group1 Australian Derby winner It’s A Dundeel is the second pick at $7.50 with Darren Weir stable star Puissance De Lune at $8 just in front of Atlantic Jewel’s stablemate Super Cool who is marked as $8.50 chance following his impressive first up third in the Memsie Stakes.
