They were mostly content with getting one more helping of the pie before it went abroad but the ATC could be in for a bonus with Black Caviar potentially running twice in Sydney.

Managing part owner Neil Werrett has signalled his desire to see the mare tackle a Randwick double during her autumn preparation.

It would mean defending her TJ Smith Stakes title on April 14 before returning a fortnight later for the All Aged Stakes.

All of this depends though on what route she takes through the Melbourne autumn at the start of her campaign.

Her first up test is the Australia Stakes at Moonee Valley on January 27 but that’s the only assignment set in stone.

“We haven’t finalised her program but Peter (Moody) is keen to try her at 1400m,” Werret said.

“One option is to go towards the Orr Stakes and the Futurity before Sydney.

“The other option is that we could run in the Lightning Stakes (after the Australia Stakes) and then back up in the Futurity a week later before having a short break and coming to Sydney.

“We are still undecided what we will do with her, Peter will make his mind up soon.”

Given the hysteria surrounding Black Caviar everywhere she’s gone in Australia so far the cash boost for the ATC would be massive.

This would especially be the case assuming she got to Sydney with her unbeaten record intact.

The super mare is now only a week away from returning to the Moody stables and it’s all positives coming from the team.

“She has been on the water walker, that is how she starts all of her campaigns and the reports are that she is going well,” Werret said.

Her 2012 year shapes as the biggest ever with the ultimate goal resting with a maiden overseas stint.

She’ll be sent to the Royal Ascot meet in June where she’ll compete in the Golden Jubilee Stakes over 1200m before being backed up in the July Cup over the same journey on July 14.
