Appearance Continues Flawless Autumn With Apollo Stakes Win

Appearance has continued her impressive form by winning today’s Group 2 Apollo Stakes at Royal Randwick.

The Commands mare is now two from two this autumn, having won the Group 2 Expressway Stakes by more than a length on February 8.

Appearance put her fellow horses behind her with ease as she flew down the final straight to claim the race by one and a half lengths.

The five-year-old has remained strong throughout her career, having won four Group titles ahead of today’s Apollo Stakes win.

Appearance already has three Group 1 races to her name, including the Group 1 Coolmore Classic, Queen Of The Turf Stakes and Myer Classic.

She will now head on towads some of the biggest races of the autumn carnival, with her next start expected to be in the Group 1 Chipping Norton Stakes at Warwick Farm on March 8.

Appearance is also nominated for the Queen Of The Turf Stakes, TJ Smith Stakes, Doncaster Mile and Queen Elizabeth Stakes this campaign.

The Guy Walter-trained mare has now won eight of her 18 race starts and has earned more than $1.4 million in prize money during her horse racing career.

Speediness was strong in second placing, while Moriarty passed the post in third position.

Boban again didn’t show his signature sprint in the finish of today’s Apollo Stakes.

The four-year-old wqas unbeatable during the spring, winning all five of his race starts.

However, he has failed to win either of his two race starts during his current autumn preparation.

After a fifth placing in the Group 2 Expressway Stakes first-up, many expected Boban to be back to his speedy self in the Apollo Stakes.

Despite his lackluster performance in today’s race, Boban will continue on with his autumn racing campaign.
