Villa Verde, one time favourite for last year’s Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill, had already left Bendigo trainer Shaun Dwyer’s stables and arrived at Randwick in fine order.

“Shaun  thought she might be better off here and the owners agreed to take his advice,” Cummings told Racing Network.

“She arrived here last night.”

Villa Verde was one of the best performed early two year olds las t season and showed Dwyer so much potential  in winning at Caulfield and Flemington, he decided to bypass the Group 1 $1m Patinack Farm Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield for a Golden Slipper campaign.

The Not A Single Doubt filly then ran second to the Gai Waterhouse trained Overreach in the Group 2 $300,000 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill before running seventh to the same filly in the Golden Slipper.

From four starts in the Spring, Villa Verde’s best effort was fourth to multi millions dollar colt Zoustar in the Group 1 $500,000 Coolmore Stud Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on the first day of the Melbourne Cup Carnival.

“She has had a lot of issues over time but we all know that when right she’s top-class so we’ll just see what happens,” Cummings said.

Cummings will have to map out a Autumn Carnival program for the grey filly who will be ready to barrier in five or six weeks.

“I would say she’s five or six weeks away from having a trial or a jump-out and we’re expecting to get an autumn campaign out of her here in Sydney,” Cummings said.

Villa Verde is the winner of two races from nine starts and has earned $321,650 in prizemoney for her connections.
