The talented mare has been considered favourite for the Winterbottom Stakes since trainer Robbie Griffiths confirmed that she would be sent to Perth for the $750,000 race and she has remained steady at her opening quote after she fared well at the barrier draw that was held last night.

Moment Of Change finished a close second behind Buffering in the Winterbottom Stakes last year and he is currently on the second line of betting to go one better in the 2014 edition of the race.

The Barely A Moment gelding looked as though he would miss the remainder of the 2014 Spring Racing Carnival after he suffered an injury in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on August 30, but he returned to racing with an unlucky eighth in the Group 1 Manikato Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on October 24 before he finished a credible fifth in the Group 1 Darley Classic (1200m) at Flemington on November 8.

Moment Of Change opened at a quote of $4.40 when the 2014 Winterbottom Stakes field was released on Monday afternoon and briefly drifted out to $4.60, but was quickly backed back into his opening price.

Sidestep is another horse that has remained steady at his opening Winterbottom Stakes price and the talented entire is available at $7 to record his maiden win at the highest level of racing this weekend.

The son of Exceed And Excel finished his autumn campaign with back-to-back wins in the Listed Darby Munro Stakes (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 29 and the Group 2 Royal Sovereign Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on April 19 before he returned to the races with a credible eighth in the Darley Classic.

The only other horse in Winterbottom Stakes betting markets that is available at single figure odds is talented mare Magnifisio and she is rated the best locally-trained chance in the Group 1 event.

Magnifisio had her Winterbottom Stakes odds shortened when she scored an impressive win in the Group 3 Lee Steere Stakes (1400m) at Ascot on November 8, but her price drifted out to $7.50 after she was allocated an outside gate for the biggest sprint race in Western Australia.

There has been a sprinkling of support in Winterbottom Stakes betting markets for last start winner Éclair Big Bang ($14 into $13), while both Colonel Reeves Stakes winner Shining Knight ($11 out to $12) and Adam Durrant-trained Ysmael have been on the drift.

Ortensia (2011), Barakey (2012) and Buffering (2013) have won the past three editions of the Winterbottom Stakes as favourites, while Hadabeclorka (2010) is the only horse to win the race at double figure odds in the past 15 years.
