Angel Of Mercy Faces Autumn Test At Rosehill

Trainer Gerald Ryan is confident his talented filly Angel Of Mercy can win her next race start at Rosehill this weekend.

Angel Of Mercy won her last start in the Schweppes Plate at Warwick Farm by three and a half lengths after finishing second to Safusa on debut in December last year.

The Hussonet filly was fourth emergency in last Saturday’s $1 million Magic Millions 3YO Guineas but did not make the field.

Ryan will use this Saturday’s race to decide which races Angel Of Mercy will target during the upcoming autumn carnival.

“She is going terrific and she never left Sydney last week,” Ryan said.

“If she measures up we could look at having a crack at something in the autumn or maybe look at the Brisbane winter.”

Jockey Brenton Avdulla will be aboard Angle Of Mercy for her third career race start.

Her trainer is hoping her three week break between runs will do her the world of good going into this weekend’s challenge.

“I squeezed the first two runs into her in 12 days, but its three weeks between her last start and this and I think she’ll appreciate that,” Ryan said.

Angel Of Mercy was purchased for $180,000 from the 2012 Gold Coast Magic Millions Sales and has won more than $46,000 in prize money over her first two starts.
