Ambience will be having her first run back since finishing second to Kiwi filly Sofia Rosa in the Group 1 $1m James Boag’s Premium Australian Oaks (2400m) at Randwick day two of ‘The Championships’ on April 9.

The John O’Shea trained filly has drawn in close at barrier four in the final sixteen horse field plus five emergencies with James McDonald booked to ride.

Ambience also has first class form during the Spring Carnival with a win in the Group 2 $300,000 Mumm Wakeful Stakes (2000m) at Flemington on the first day of the 2015 Melbourne Cup Carnival and then five days later ran third behind Jameka and Honesta in the Group 1 $1m Crown Oaks (2500m) at Flemington.

The Street Cry filly is heading towards a start in the Group 1 $500,000 Treasury Casino & Hotel Queensland Oaks (2400m) at Eagle Farm on June 4 and is on the second line of betting at $10 at Ladbrokes.com.au for the fillies’ Classic.

The Bjorn Baker trained Imposing Lass heads the Queensland Oaks market order at $6 and will also go around in The Roses on Saturday with regular rider Jason Collett to ride again.

Imposing Lass is the winner of her last three starts, her latest beating Self Esteem in the Listed $125,000 Gold Coast Bracelet (1800m) at the Gold Coast on May 7 but was out of luck at the barrier draw, coming up with gate eighteen but could come in three spots if all of the emergencies fail to gain a start.

Self Esteem is one of two fillies Peter and Paul Snowden will saddle up in The Roses along with Falkenberg who was fourth in the Gold Coast Bracelet.

Tim Clark takes over from Blake Shinn on Self Esteem who has drawn barrier fourteen in the original draw while Damian Browne rides Falkenberg from barrier six.

Trainer David Vandyke celebrated his move to Queensland with a win by Look To The Stars in the Listed $100,000 Lion Dairy and Drinks Princess Stakes (1600m) at the Sunshine Coast on April 23 and the she is also heading towards the Queensland Oaks.

The I Am Invincible filly drew nicely in The Roses at gate five with Blake Spriggs to ride again.

Alaskan Rose is another filly that has drawn awkwardly at barrier sixteen with former South African rider Robbie Fradd taking the ride.

Alaskan Rose has had a freshen up since running eleventh in the Australian Oaks but her two Autumn Carnival runs before that were okay with a third in the Group 3 $150,000 Schweppervescence Trophy (1600m) at Flemington followed by a second in the Group 3 $200,000 TAB Adrian Knox Stakes (2000m) at Randwick on April 2.
