Racing New South Wales released the following statement on the eve of the $10 million sprint.

“Racing NSW Stewards and Veterinarians have this morning completed the final veterinary inspections and sampling of all runners engaged to start in this Saturday’s $10m The TAB Everest at Royal Randwick.”

“All horses have been passed fit to take their place in the race and the routine analysis of non-raceday samples collected from all runners, which is continuing to be conducted by the Australian Racing Forensic Laboratory, has detected no abnormalities.”

Late on Friday afternoon Ladbrokes.com.au had a new favourite for The Everest with the Lindsay Park trained Vega Magic holding his price at $5 while Golden Slipper winner She Will Reign has eased out to $5.50 joining Chautauqua on the second line of betting.

The Peter and Paul Snowden trained Redzel is next in the betting at $7.50 just ahead of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig’s second runner Redkirk Warrior at $9 while the Lindsay Park Team will also saddle up $61 outsider Tulip.

Vega Magic is the winner of his last four starts that includes two Group 1 victories in the $1m Darley Goodwood (1200m) at Morphettville during the 2017 Autumn Carnival and in the $1m New Zealand Bloodstock Memsie Stakes (1400m) at Caulfield on September 2.
