Alizee is currently available at 2017 Silver Shadow Stakes odds of $2.45 and is currently clear favourite for the Group 2 event that will be held at Royal Randwick on Saturday.

Alizee finished second in the Group 3 Magic Night Stakes (1200m) and fifth in the Group 3 Kindergarten Stakes (1100m) in the Autumn, but is expected to go to another level under the care of James Cummings in the Spring.

She recorded her maiden race win with a fast-finishing effort at Warwick Farm on August 2 and the early money suggests that she can claim a maiden black-type victory in the Silver Shadow Stakes.

Trainer James Cummings was most impressed with the first-up victory of Alizee and he believes that the daughter of Sepoy will be able to go on with the job this weekend.

“She’s the only filly in the field with match fitness and she gets a wonderful opportunity on top of the ground here,” Cummings said.

“It was a classy win first up, she could hardly have been more impressive.”

It is a tight battle on the second line of the Silver Shadow Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes and both Formality and Champagne Cuddles are currently priced at a quote of $3.30.

Formality finished third behind stablemate Catchy and Pariah in the Group 1 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes (1200m) at Caulfield on February 25 before she flopped in the Group 1 Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 18 and was narrowly denied by Shoals in the Percy Sykes Stakes on the second day of The Championships.

Champagne Cuddles will step-up to Group company for the first time after she started her career with wins in the Pierro Plate (1100m) at Rosehill Gardens on October 29 and the Club Redfern Plate (1000m) at Royal Randwick on June 10.

The 2017 Silver Shadow Stakes field is rounded out by One More Honey and Villa Carlotta.

One More Honey has struggled for consistency during her racing career to date, but she was able to win the Group 3 Sweet Embrace Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on February 25.

Villa Carlotta chased home Frolic and She Will Reign in the Group 2 Reisling Stakes (1200m) at Royal Randwick on March 4, but she missed the placings in both the Baillieu Handicap (1400m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 25 and the Percy Sykes Stakes.
