Clarry Conners’ smart two year old filly Aegean Sea is out of contention for the 2015 Group 1 $3.5m Tooheys New Golden Slipper (1200m) at Rosehill on March 21 because of a leg injury.

The top Sydney trainer was forced to scratch Aegean Sea from her engagement last Saturday in the $85,000 Sire Custodian’s Plate (1100m) at Rosehill after suffering a leg injury and will be sent for a six month spell.
“It’s very disappointing that Aegean Sea won’t be going to the Slipper. She needs six months out,” Conners told AAP.
The Beneteau youngster scored an impressive win on debut over 1000m on the Kensington track at Randwick on November 22 and Conners anticipated that she would develop into a Golden Slipper filly and was expecting another win last Saturday.
But Conners is now hoping that he can unearth another Golden Slipper hopeful with Look To The Stars ready to make her race debut.
The I Am Invincible filly is among the acceptors for the $40,000 Pro-Ride Plate (1000m) at Warwick Farm on Wednesday and Conners has also nominated the filly for the $250,000 Inglis Nursery (1000m) at Randwick on Saturday.
Look To The Stars has drawn barrier nine in the ten horse field at Warwick Farm and Conners will decide on Wednesday morning if he will send her around or keep her for the bigger prizemoney race on Saturday.
“Look To The Stars is a nice filly. She ran fourth in her first trial behind Aegean Sea and second in her second trial,” Conners said.
“I’m undecided about what to do with her this week.
“She is an Inglis filly so the race on Saturday is a temptation.
“I will just have to talk it over with her owners and decide what to do.”
Conners has given Look At The Stars two barrier trials at Warwick Farm in preparation for her race day debut resulting in a fourth behind Aegean Sea over 796m on November 7 followed by a second over 808m on November 20.
Twenty-three two year olds have been nominated for the Inglis Nursery with the Liam Birchley trained Snippetson filly Hot Snipperty heading the list.
The Queensland trained filly won on debut over 1050m in a two year old Handicap at Doomben on October 11 and was then spelled after running second in the $250,000 Inglis Banner (1000m) at Moonee Valley on October 25.
