Adelaide Now Expecting Some Warm Love

David Brideoake has decided to aim his talented young filly Warm Love at the last feature race in Adelaide at the end of the month.

The trainer had originally hoped to run the three-year-old at Flemington this weekend, however, has instead chosen to run her in the Listed Reliance Petroleum Stakes at Morphettville on July 30.

“It is a massive temptation to run her again this week at Flemington because she has pulled up so well but I think we will head to Adelaide instead,” Brideoake said.

“I would have loved to have gone to Flemington with her (Warm Love) because she is very much proven over that course, but I reckon the Adelaide race is an ideal opportunity for her.”

Brideoake believes that the extra time between runs will benefit Warm Love.

“It gives her two weeks between runs which is not a bad way to go,” he said.

Warm Love finished third behind Secret Flyer and Rue Maple in the Listed Sir John Monash Stakes last weekend.

“I thought it was a great effort last Saturday,” Brideoake said.

“First up at 1100 metres she was always going to be a little bit vulnerable so I was really, really happy with her run.

“She settled well and was pretty strong at the finish, and has come through it well.”

Warm Love, an Octagonal filly, has won five of her 13 race starts and finished third in the Group 1 Lightning Stakes behind Black Caviar and Hay List earlier in the year.

The $9,000 yearling has already accrued prize money of over $300,000.
