It has been a typically wet week for this time of year in Sydney and the Rosehill Gardens track is in the heavy range, but that should not hindered what will be a fascinating afternoon of racing.

There may be five Group 1 races on this card, but the Golden Slipper is the obvious highlight and it is a very open edition of the world richest race for juveniles.

Sunlight is currently on top of the 2018 Golden Slipper betting market with Ladbrokes at a quote of $4.80, but there has also been money for Written By ($5.50), Performer ($8), Estijaab ($9) and Seabrook. ($9.50).

The other highlight is the appearance of Winx in the George Ryder Stakes.

The star mare is a typically dominant favourite to record her 24th straight victory and she is currently priced at the unbackable odds of $1.16 to continue her winning ways – although there has been some money for Randwick Guineas winner Kementari and he is into $6.

The Ranvet Stakes, Rosehill Guineas and The Galaxy are the other Group 1 events on what is a truly outstanding card and we can’t wait to get stuck into all of the action.
