A maximum field of sixteen can run in the Tattersall’s Cup with the nominations being extended until 9am on Tuesday, June 20, 2017.

Caulfield trainer Ciaron Maher has nominated Pemberley who will step out as one of the favourites for the Tattersall’s Cup after finishing third to Chocante in the Group 2 $300,000 Evergreen Turf Brisbane Cup (2200m) at Doomben on June 10.

The Helen Page trained Rudy is also nominated and will get another chance to try to win a Brisbane Winter Carnival feature race and will head into the Tattersall’s Cup on the back of a fifth in the Brisbane Cup.

Rudy had been placed at his two previous Winter Carnival outings which resulted in a third to Sense Of Occasion in the Group 1 $650,000 Hardy Brothers Doomben Cup (2000m) at Doomben on May 20 followed by a second to Single Gaze in the Group 2 $200,000 Pages Event Equipment Hire P J O’Shea Stakes (2200m) at Doomben two weeks later.

Leading Victorian trainer Darren Weir has nominated four stayers of the Tattersall’s Cup, Gallic Chieftain, I’ll Fly Away, Neverland and Tick Tick Bloom.

Neverland gets his chance for a Winter Carnival win after finishing sixth last start to Chocante in the Brisbane Cup while Gallic Chieftain is a last start winner in a 2040m Handicap at Moonee Valley on June 3.

Toowoomba trainer Michael Nolan has nominated last Saturday’s Ipswich Cup third placegetter Jumbo Prince and War Baby, who was a winner in the 2150m BenchMark 80 Handicap at Ipswich, is also among the entries for the Tattersall’s Cup.
