The Team Hawkes trained Inference showed his liking for a rain affected surface when he came from last on the heavy 10 rated Randwick track to win the Group 1 $1m Girvan Waugh Randwick Guineas (1600m) on March 4.

The So You Think colt is in line for another wet track this week with plenty of rain forecast for Sydney in the lead up to the weekend.

Last year’s Group 1 Victoria Derby winner Prized Icon is also among the nineteen nominations for the Rosehill Guineas and the step up to the 2000m will suit him at this stage of his preparation.

The James Cummings trained Prized Icon has had two Autumn Carnival runs for a first up sixth to Man From Uncle in the Group 2 $400,000 Schweppes Hobartville Stakes (1400m) at Rosehill on February 18 followed by a second to Hey Doc in the Group 1 $750,000 Australian Guineas (1600m) at Flemington on March 4.

Seaburge is also coming off a run in the Australian Guineas when he finished sixth and the Sebring colt is the only Rosehill Guineas nominations for the Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig.

Seaburge found some good form during the 2016 Melbourne Spring and although he couldn’t find the winner’s stall was Group 1 placed on two occasions when runner up to Divine Prophet in the $1m Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas (1600m) at Caulfield against the three year olds and then two starts later was runner up again to Awesome Rock when he took on the older horses in the weight for age $2m Emirates Stakes (2000m) at Flemington.

Kiwi trainers Stephen Autridge and Jamie Richards have nominated Gingernuts who is coming off a last start win in the Group 1 NZ$1m New Zealand Derby (2400m) at Ellerslie on March 4.

Rising Red finished second to Gingernuts in the New Zealand Derby and is one of two three year olds co-trainers Trent Busuttin and Natalie Young has nominated for the Rosehill Guineas, their second entry being Anaheim who was beaten less than two lengths last start when fifth to Hey Doc in the Australian Guineas.

Sydney’s leading trainer Chris Waller has three nominations for the Rosehill Guineas, Comin’ Through, Wine Bush and Sizzling Bullet.

Comin’ Through is his leading contender following his third to Man From Uncle in theHobartville Stakes and was third again in the Randwick Guineas.

Man From Uncle has a great chance to give the new training partnership of Anthony and Edward Cummings their first Group 1 victory after the Uncle Mo gelding produced two wins from his last three starts.

Before winning the Hobartville Stakes, Man From Uncle was successful in winning the Group 3 $150,000 Australian Chinese Jockey Club Eskimo Prince Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on February 4 while his latest effort saw him finish fifth to Inference in the Randwick Guineas on the heavy track.

Early market order for the Rosehill Guineas at Ladbrokes.com.au: $4 Inference, $6 Prized Icon, $8 Comin’ Through, Gingernuts, Impavido, $13 Anaheim, $14 Man From Uncle, $15 Rising Red, Seaburge, $16 Harper’s Choice, Sizzling Bullet, $26 Land Of Plenty, $31 Cliff Hanger, $51 Bezel, Hardham, Hollywood Mo, Ruthven, So Si Bon, Wine Bush.
