2017 Blue Diamond Stakes Results: Catchy Wins

The 2017 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes results will be updated all afternoon at horseracing.com.au and we are set for a simply outstanding day of racing at Caulfield.

There are three Group 1 events at Caulfield this afternoon and all three are set to be outstanding betting races.

The Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes is the feature and you can make the case for the majority of the field, but it is Lindsay Park-trained Catchy ($4.20) that is a narrow favourite from Pariah ($4.60), Property ($7), Formality ($7) and Tulip ($7) in Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes betting.

It is Extreme Choice that is currently on top of the Oakleigh Plate betting market with Ladbrokes and Black Heart Bart is a dominant favourite to win another Group 1 event in the Futurity Stakes.

Silent Sedition led from start to finish to win the 2017 Mannerism Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Craig Williams took Silent Sedition straight to the front in the early stages of the Mannerism Stakes, but she didn’t get a particuarly easy time of it front.

Thames Court made a dive at her late, but Silent Sedition held-off her rival to add another Group victory to her resume.

Race 8 (4:50pm) – $500,000 Group 1 Oakleigh Plate Results

Sheidel capped off a big day for Lindsay Park with a front-running victory in the 2017 Oakleigh Plate at Caulfield this weekend.

The Lindsay Park-trained duo of Sheidel and Faatinah took up the running in the early stages of the Oakleigh Plate and they were the only horses that looked like winning chances.

Extreme Choice and Hellbent both savaged the line, but there was no catching Sheidel and she fought off Faatinah to claim a maiden victory at Group 1 level.

Catchy made up plenty of ground late to take out the 2017 Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Catchy was shuffled a long way back in the early stages of the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes and she had plenty of work to do when Pariah kicked clear at the top of the straight.

Pariah looked as though she was going to deliver Team Snowden yet another victory in the Ladbrokes Blue Diamond Stakes, but Catchy absolutely stormed home in the concluding stages to steal victory.

Pariah lost no admirers with his tough second place finish and Formality and Tulip gave the Lindsay Park team three of the first four horses home.

Race 6 (3:30pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Peter Young Stakes Stakes Results

Stratum Star will head to the 2017 Australian Cup as a genuine contender after he recording a fighting victory in the Peter Young Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

There were plenty of winning chances with 200 metres left to run in the Peter Young Stakes as Jameka, The United and Stratum Star did battle, but Stratum Star was the fittest horse in the race and that proved key in the concluding stages.

Stratum Star will be joined in the Peter Young Stakes by stablemate Humidor, who once again did plenty wrong but was still able to find the line strongly for second.

Black Heart Bart beat stablemate Tosen Stardom by the narrowest possible margin to win the 2017 Futurity Stakes.

Tosen Stardom and Black Heart Both both made their runs together in the straight and Tosen Stardom looked like the winner, but Black Heart Bart dived on the line to record another Group 1 victory.

Speed maps were thrown on their heads when Ecuador flew the gates and took up the running from Attention, while expected leader Turn Me Loose settled third.

Jockey Brad Rawiller revealed after the race that he was a pair further back than expected on Black Heart Bart and it was only the fighting quality of the horse that got him home in the Futurity Stakes.

Superstar hoop Joao Moreira lifted Savanna Amour to victory in the 2017 Angus Armanasco Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

The late scratching of Fuhryk changed the complexion of the Angus Armanasco Stakes and it was a bunch finish involving Savanna Amour, Ellicazoom and Oregon’s Day.

Oregon’s Day looked as though she was finishing the best, but Moreira got the best out of Savanna Amour and she got her head down at the right victory to claim victory.

Race 3 (1:40pm) – $200,000 Group 2 Autumn Classic Results

Farson proved far too good for his rivals to record a comfortable victory in the 2017 Autumn Classic at Caulfield this afternoon.

Stephen Baster was forced to do a little bit of work on Farson in the early stages of the race and he found the lead a long way form home.

Farson looked as though he could have been a sitting duck at the top of the straight, but he never looked like being beaten and cruised to another race win.

The Australian Guineas was on the agenda for Farson, but Gai Waterhouse has changed paths with the son of Snitzel and he will have his next race start in the Alister Clarke Stakes.

A lovely ride from Blake Shinn helped Benz return to the races with an impressive victory in the Ladbrokes Zeditave Stakes at Caulfield this afternoon.

Hard Promise and Yulong Yongxing ensured that the Ladbrokes Zeditave Stakes was run at a genuine tempo and it was Benz that settled behind the leading duo.

Joao Moreira went for home on Hard Promise at the top of the straight and gave a good kick, but Benz was too good in the final stages of the race and ran through the line strongly.

Race 1 (12:30pm) – $120,000 Listed Ladbrokes Mornington Cup Prelude Results

Boom Time finished over the top of stablemate Pilote D’Essai to win the 2017 Ladbrokes Mornington Cup Prelude at Caulfield this afternoon.

Pilote D’Essai took up the running to find a nice rhythm and looked as though he would prove tough to run down, but he tired in the last 100 metres and Boom Time proved much stronger in the final stages of the race.

Boom Time has now recorded four wins from his past five starts with his only defeat coming in the Magic Millions Trophy at the Gold Coast.
