Some of the best horses trained in the nation’s west will step out on Belmont Sprint Day and we have analysed each race and runner in detail, in order to help you find a winner.

The action is set to get underway with the running of the Kirin Megumi Handicap (1000m) at 11:55am local time and will conclude following the Peninsula Dining Room At Belmont Handicap (1400m) at 4:35pm.

Race 1 (11:55am) Kirin Megumi Handicap (1000m)

Seven runners have been confirmed in the final field for Race 1 at Belmont on Saturday, including the resuming I Am Incredible (barrier 5). A strong and consistent performer during the Perth Summer Carnival, the I Am Invincible gelding has trialled well in the lead-up to his competitive return and should find a good position behind the pace from barrier 5. Diamond Princess (barrier 7) is also resuming, but was excellent last time in and has the notable advantage of William Pike in the saddle. Scalpel (barrier 6) failed to make up the distance late when fourth in the Amelia Park Lamb Plate (1000m) on April 1st, but has reportedly relished a freshen-up and will be tough to beat.

Tip: No. 3 Diamond Princess ($6)

Race 2 (12:35pm) WA Day Plate (1000m)

Eleven two-year-olds will take their place in Race 2 at Belmont on Saturday, including three debutants; Disruptive (barrier 1), Illustrious Tycoon (barrier 5) and Take The Stand (barrier 8). Mizlecki (barrier 4) debuted to racing for an impressive win at Ascot a fortnight ago and should carry plenty of upside into this race, while Watchit (barrier 11) is also a last-start winner, but faces a notable step up in class into Saturday’s run. You Am I (barrier 2) will return from a spell, but stamped himself as one to watch through two impressive start in his debut campaign.

Tip: No. 7 Mizlecki ($1.80)

Race 3 (1:15pm) Mumm Champagne Handicap (1200m)

It is an open field of ten that has been confirmed for the Mumm Champagne Handicap on Saturday, including the consistent Karlakee Miss (barrier 3). Having resumed in early April for a comfortable win in the Arthur River Dash (1208m), the Oratorio filly placed second in an Ascot sprint over 1200m before returning to winning form in the City Of Belmont Plate (1000m). Last seen working to the line well for second at Ascot a fortnight ago, Karlakee Miss is well suited to the conditions of this race and is drawn ideally. Main dangers include the in-form Captivated Point (barrier 10) and the resuming Tommy Who (barrier 4), whose chances increased with an ideal barrier draw.

Tip: No. 7 Karlakee Miss ($2.80)

Race 4 (1:53pm) Amelia Park Handicap (1200m)

Some of Perth’s best three-year-olds currently in work will take to the barriers for the Amelia Park Handicap. Blackline (barrier 4) is undoubtedly the horse to beat and carries winning form into the race, having delivered a smart field a near-four length defeat in the Get The Tabtouch Handicap (1200m) on April 5th. Paris Texas (barrier 10) was luckless in running last time out and he will need luck again in this race, but has the ability to win. Former Kiwi filly Show Honey (barrier 2) returned to the races for an impressive win in the Inglis Insurance Brokers Maiden (1200m) on May 10th and undoubtedly represents the best value to punters in Amelia Park Handicap betting markets.

Tip: No. 10 Show Honey ($4.60)

Race 5 (2:37pm) Pink Ladies High Tea 8 July Handicap (1000m)

Half the field for Race 5 at Belmont on Saturday is resuming and it is subsequently wide open from a betting perspective. Vandemonian (barrier 3) is drawn ideally, weighted well and seeking a third-consecutive win in the race and is primed for a successful step up in class into this field. Viking Forrest (barrier 10) has not been seen at the races in 2017, but has trialled well ahead of this race and has the class to win first-up. Presentatie (barrier 8) through her rider at her last start in early May, but has plenty of upside following a freshen-up and represents terrific value to win this race.

Tip: No. 7 Presentatie – Each Way ($7/$2.45)

Race 6 (3:15pm) Tabtouch Handicap (2000m)

My Magic Miss (barrier 5) is rock-hard fit, has been there or there abouts at her three most-recent starts and is subsequently the horse to beat in Race 6 at Belmont on Saturday afternoon. Respondent (barrier 6) is yet to show much through two starts this time, but his class suggests that he is more than capable amongst this company. Couleur Bizarre (barrier 4) went amiss last time out, but posted three-consecutive race wins prior and should be right in the finish once more on Saturday. North Ride (barrier 9) has been charged with carry a heavy-weight, but is also in excellent form.

Tip: No. 6 Couleur Bizarre – Each Way ($11/$3.30)

Race 7 (3:55pm) Group 3 Belmont Sprint (1400m)

The Belmont Sprint has drawn some of Perth’s best racehorses this year and there is a case to be made for close to all twelve runners. Scales Of Justice (barrier 12) was the standout local of the Perth Summer Carnival and will make his competitive return in the Belmont Sprint. Winner of both the Group 3 RJ Peters Stakes (1500m) and Group 1 Railway Stakes (1800m), the Not A Single Doubt gelding was last seen running second to Stratum Star in the Group 1 Kingston Town Classic (1800m). He could require more distance, but is a live chance on class alone. Rock Magic (barrier 1) ran an impressive fourth in the Group 1 William Reid Stakes (1200m) first-up this time and while failing to fire in the Group 1 TJ Smith Stakes (1200m), returned to Perth for a smart win in the Group 3 Roma Cup (1200m). Stable mates Disposition (barrier 8) and Battle Hero (barrier 11) are both capable at the class and distance, while Durendal (barrier 7) carries improvement into the race and represents terrific value.

Tip: No. 5 Durendal – Each Way ($16/$4.30)

Race 8 (4:35pm) Peninsula Dining Room At Belmont Handicap (1400m)

Thirteen horses will line up for Race 8; the final event on Belmont’s Saturday card. Meteoroid (barrier 6) returned to the races for a smart win in the Italo-Australian Welfare Plate (1200m) a fortnight ago and will only improve into and under the conditions of this race. Special Delivery (barrier 9) placed third amongst stronger company than this first-up and will be partnered by William Pike once more on Saturday. Baraki Beats (barrier 13) is a proven first-up performer, but has been charged with overcoming the outside barrier.

Tip: No. 2 Special Delivery ($3.50)
