Classy fields have been drawn to all eight races on 2017 Beaufine Stakes Day and we have analysed every horse in detail, in order to help you find a winner at Belmont.

All the action on Beaufine Stakes Day will officially get underway with the running of the TABtouch Masters December Handicap (2100m) at 12:34pm local time, while the feature race will be contested at 4:20pm.

Race 1 (12:34pm) Tabtouch Masters December Handicap (2100m)

Only seven horses have been confirmed in the final field for Race 1 at Belmont, however the depth of talent suggests that there is several live chances. Rosewood Hill (barrier 2) failed to fire last start, but won each of her two starts prior to that and is not without a chance here, with William Pike in the saddle. Dark Muscat (barrier 1) has yet to show his best this time, but should enjoy the conditions of this race and has the class to prevail, while all of North Ridge (barrier 4), Respondent (barrier 7) and Gatting (barrier 5) would not look out of place in the winner’s stall. Lord Conrad (barrier 3) and Shinta Mani (barrier 6) complete the field.

Tip: No. 4 Rosewood Hill ($2.70)

Race 2 (1:14pm) Get The Tabtouch Plate (1200m)

Several exciting two-year-olds will contest Race 2 at Belmont on Saturday, including Mizlecki (barrier 3). Mizlecki debuted to racing for a smart win at Ascot in May and has since finished second in the WA Day Plate (1000m) and fourth in the Amelia Park Beef Plate (1000m). Drawn ideally, the filly’s chances are sure to be boosted by William Pike. Salubrious (barrier 9) may need to expel some energy early from a wide draw, but has found terrific form recently and is seeking a third-consecutive win in this race. Cognac (barrier 7) is yet to taste anything but success through three starts this time in and should again prove tough to beat amongst this company on Saturday.

Tip: No. 1 Salubrious – Each Way ($6/$2)

Race 3 (1:54pm) D’Orsogna Handicap (1300m)

Nine horses will line up for Race 3 on Beaufine Stakes Day, however Galaxy Star (barrier 2) is undoubtedly the horse to beat. Posting five wins and a close second through her six career starts so far, the Redoute’s Choice mare resumed this time for a dominant win in the David Grays Aglink BM66+ (1300m) a fortnight ago and should just win this race. War God (barrier 7) has found strong and consistent form this time in and looms as the major dangers, while there is cases to be made for both Profit Street (barrier 1) and Helms Gate (barrier 5) as each-way chances.

Tip: No. 7 Galaxy Star ($1.50)

Race 4 (2:33pm) Old Mate’s Sports Bar & Eatery Handicap (1200m)

Several classy horses will line up in Race 4 at Belmont, including the resuming Enchanted Dream (barrier 9). The Patronize filly has not been seen at the races since February, but was outstanding last time in and one each of her three starts. High Conviction (barrier 3) is set to start a clear race favourite and should prove tough to beat from an inside draw and with William Pike in the saddle. Posting three wins through only four career starts, the Snitzel filly flew home to win the Sign On Handicap (1000m) a fortnight ago and will only improve in stepping up to 1200m. Show Honey (barrier 10) and A Knight Of Pro (barrier 4) are both long-odds chances.

Tip: No. 4 High Conviction ($2.40)

Race 5 (3:10pm) The Gate Bar & Bistro Leading Rider Handicap (1200m)

Thirteen horses will step out in Race 5 on Beaufine Stakes Day, including Belter (barrier 2). Belter will look for a position off the early pace and boasts a big turn of foot which will be hard for his rivals to overcome in this race. Atlanta Blue (barrier 11) is drawn well to drop off the early pace as well, but will require a genuine tempo if he is to run on late. Bold Success (barrier 10) resumed for a close second in the Get The Tabtouch Plate (1200m) a fortnight ago and should carry plenty of benefit into this race. Kronstadt (barrier 12) has steadily built to the task this time in and appears ready to peak in form this weekend.

Tip: No. 9 Bold Success ($2.90)

Race 6 (3:45pm) Inglis Bloodstock Leading Trainer Handicap (1650m)

Thirteen horses have been confirmed in the Race 6 field, including Cruachan (barrier 7). The Commands gelding failed to fire at his last start and should enjoy improved conditions on Saturday, while Nelson’s Flight (barrier 4) was dominant in his last start, is drawn ideally and has the notable advantage of William Pike in the saddle. Election (barrier 10) stormed home to win at huge odds under the conditions of this race last time out and is again way over the odds at his current quote, while Gomer Wipple (barrier 5) is more than up to the class and should take plenty of benefit from his last start second behind Nelson’s Flight at Belmont a fortnight ago.

Tip: No. 6 Gomer Wipple ($4)

Race 7 (4:20pm) Listed Beaufine Stakes (1000m)

An outstanding field of sprinters has been confirmed for the feature race, however topweight First Among Equals (barrier 1) should prove extremely difficult to beat. The Exceed And Excel gelding has not been seen at the races since finishing mid-field in the Group 1 The Goodwood (1200m) in May, but resumed for a smart win in the Listed Avon Valley Toyota Stakes (1100m) amongst similar company to this a fortnight prior. It’s It (barrier 6) has found strong and consistent form this time and undoubtedly shapes as the major dangers, particularly after drawing ideally. Pretentious Chant (barrier 5) was an impressive winner last time, but will undoubtedly need to improve to figure amongst this company, while Dendee (barrier 9) should have taken plenty of benefit from a freshen-up.

Tip: No. 1 First Among Equals ($2.70)

Race 8 (4:57pm) WA Bookmakers Association Lead Apprentice Handicap (1400m)

The final race on 2017 Beaufine Stakes Day has drawn fifteen horses, including Royal Missile (barrier 11). Royal Missile has been extremely close at each of her five most-recent starts and is ready to return to winning form in this race, with conditions to suit. Friaresque ($3.90) flew home to win the Awesome Rock Plate (1400m) at Belmont last weekend and should be rock-hard fit leading into this, his fourth-up appearance. Romelo (barrier 3) has not been seen at the races since February, but is a proven first-up performance and could be over the odds at his current quote.

Tip: No. 15 Romelo – Each Way ($15/$4.40)
