Renowned tipster from G1X Mick Sharkie was happy to scout around the favourites and hit Missrock at the good each way odds of $12 before she firmed into $9 at Ladbrokes.com.au.

“Missrock is my main bet on an each-way basis and I’m happy to snap up some of the $12 that is on offer,” Shakie said on G1X.

Missrock showed she was well above average with a first up win in the Group 3 $500,000 IG Markets Percy Sykes Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on April 9 but the Laing trained filly has been unplaced at her two Spring Carnival starts this campaign.

The Fastnet Rock filly resumed for a first up sixth to Kentucky Miss in the Listed $120,000 Cap D’Antibes Stakes (1100m) at Flemington on September 10 and then made up plenty of ground from the back when sixth, beaten less than two lengths, to Legless Veuve in the Group 2 $200,000 Schweppes Thousand Guineas Prelude (1400m) at Caulfield on September 24.

Missrock has drawn barrier nine in the fifteen horse field with Dwayne Dunn retaining the ride.

Update: Missrock has been well backed to win the Thousand Guineas and she is now into a price of $10 in the betting market with Ladbrokes.

The Chris Waller trained Foxplay sits at the top of the market order at $3.40 for the Thousand Guineas as she chases a hat trick of wins following victories in the Group 2 $175,000 Fitzy & Wippa’s Fast & Furious Stakes (1200m) at Randwick on September 3 and the Group 2 $175,000 Tea Rose Stakes (1400m) at Randwick on September 17.

On the second line of betting at $4.20 in the Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott trained Global Glamour who is lining up to win back to back Group 1 races after leading all of the way to take out the $500,000 Sydney Airport Flight Stakes (1600m) at Randwick last Saturday.

Harlow Gold who is prepared by the Lindsay Park Team of David and Ben Hayes and Tom Dabernig is also well in contention at $9.50 and is also chasing her third win on the trot after a four lengths Pakenham Maiden win over 1400m on the synthetic track followed by a come from behind win against the three years olds in a 1600m Plate at Caulfield on September 17.

Market order for the Thousand Guineas at Ladbrokes.com.au: $3.40 Foxplay, $4.20 Global Glamour, $9.50 Harlow Gold, $10 Whispering Brook, $11 Missrock, $14 La Luna Rossa, $18 Leotie, $18 Legless Veuve, $19 Samara Dancer, I Am A Star, $34 Sebring Dream, $41 Sword Of Light, $71 Smart Amelia, $101 Fromparis Withlove, $126, Peeking Duck.
