Two-year-old form is always very tricky to analyse as the majority of runners have not had many starts, but this year in the Golden Slipper there appears to be a number of standouts in the Group 1 event.

Ratings expert Daniel O’Sullivan revealed this morning in his 2015 Golden Slipper tips that Vancouver is the horse to beat in the Golden Slipper and we agree with his assessment, but what two horses do we believe will fill out the placings behind the standout colt?

2015 Golden Slipper Trifecta Tip

1st Vancouver ($3.10)

Vancouver is the standout horse in the 2015 Golden Slipper field and he has the potential to become the best two-year-old that we have seen in Australia since Pierro. The Medaglia D’Oro colt has followed a very similar program to Pierro heading into the Golden Slipper, but his dominant three and a half lengths victory in the Group 2 Todman Stakes (1200m) was arguably more impressive than anything that Pierro produced in the lead-up to his Golden Slipper victory. The wide draw is a slight concern, but jockey Tommy Berry will have a number of options in the early stages of the race and as long as the two-year-old isn’t caught five wide early he should prove to be very tough to beat.

2nd Exosphere ($4)

Exosphere is the obvious danger to Vancouver and he is the most likely to benefit if the Golden Slipper favourite has some problems in transit. The Lonhro colt stamped himself as a leading contender for the Golden Slipper when he recorded an arrogant four lengths victory in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm on February 28 and the form coming out of the race has been relatively strong. Exosphere is sure to be hitting the line strongly in the final stages of the Golden Slipper and he simply must be included in all exotic bets.

3rd Haptic ($14)

Haptic has flown under the radar heading into the Golden Slipper, but he has done nothing wrong in his two race starts to date. The Exceed And Excel colt showed plenty of early speed when he made his racing debut with a win at Royal Randwick on January 24 and he proved that was no fluke when he upset Furnaces in the Listed Lonhro Plate (1100m) at Royal Randwick on February 14. Haptic would have to go to another level to win the Golden Slipper tomorrow, but he is mapped to get the run of the race from the inside draw and should prove tough to run down in the final stages.
