2015 Golden Rose Stakes Tips: Exosphere A Deserving Favourite

Racing expert Daniel O’Sullivan has Exosphere on top of his 2015 Golden Rose Stakes tips and he is confident that either the Godolphin sprinter or Press Statement will win the Group 1 event at Rosehill Gardens this afternoon.

Exosphere stamped himself as a horse to follow when he scored a dominant win in the Group 2 Skyline Stakes (1200m) at Warwick Farm as a two-year-old and he returned to racing with a very impressive victory in the Group 2 Run To The Rose (1200m) at Rosehill Gardens on August 29.

O’Sullivan believes that Exosphere has produced the best performances of any horse in the 2015 Golden Rose Stakes field and he told RSN that he is happy to back the Lonhro colt at his Golden Rose Stakes odds of $3.10.

“His win at Warwick Farm was clearly the second best two-year-old performance of the season behind Vancouver,” O’Sullivan said.

“Things didn’t go right for him in the Slipper, but we really saw the talent that he has got when he resumed first-up there in the Run To The Rose.

“That was a genuine Group 1 three-year-old performance, which we rarely see this early in the season.

“Exosphere is drawn a little bit awkwardly and he is going to be back there on the inside and will need to get clear, but he has a powerful turn-of-foot and he is really strong at the finish.”

Press Statement finished a close second behind Exosphere in the Run To The Rose and O’Sullivan admits that the Chris Waller-trained galloper is the clear danger to Exosphere in the Golden Rose Stakes.

O’Sullivan said that he is happy to back both Exosphere and Press Statement at their current quotes and he is of the opinion that the talented duo should take up almost 75 percent of the betting market.

“I think that Press Statement will definitely improve from his first-up run and I think they are the two dominant chances in this race,” O’Sullivan said.

“The winner is going to come from those two probably around 72 to 74 percent.

“The winning mark of this race is going to be at a level that none of the others have even gone close to achieving yet.”

Exosphere ($3.10) is a clear favourite in the Golden Rose Stakes betting market with Ladbrokes from Press Statement ($3.30), Speak Fondly ($4.20), Shards ($11), Sebring Sun ($15), Holler ($15), Rageese ($21) and Let’s Make It Rain ($41).
