Talented colt Kermadec showed plenty of toughness to record a most impressive victory in the 2015 Doncaster Mile at Royal Randwick this afternoon.

Kermadec was settled towards the middle of the Doncaster Mile field by jockey Glen Boss, but he looked as though he was going to be blocked for a run when he was asked for an extra effort at the 350 metre mark.

The son of Teofilo eventually found clear running and the three-year-old absolutely exploded in the final stages to finish over the top of Real Impact and record a maiden win at the highest of racing, while consistent mare Royal Descent ran home gamely to finish third.

The Doncaster Mile victory of Kermadec was Boss’s sixth in the time-honored race, but the leading hoop revealed after the race that this may be his best win in the race and he was absolutely brimming in praise for the talented three-year-old.

“I am really lost for words right now,” Boss said.

“This one is probably the most special one because I have the opportunity to ride what is a beautiful colt and from the time I got on his back in the enclosure I felt very confident.

“He just came round here and he had a bit of a swagger about him and he just oozes sexy class this horse.

“He should have a better record than what he has and he just gave me an amazing feeling just then.

“He was very brave, at one point there was just no room and we were pushing through gaps and he was brave enough to do it for me.

“He was still well enough to pick up and sprint when I asked him.

“That was a soft victory and he is a very good colt.”

Trainer Chris Waller has had a big opinion of Kermadec since the start of his autumn campaign and he opted to set the three-year-old for the Group 1 George Ryder Stakes (1500m) and Group 1 Doncaster Mile (1600m) instead of keeping him against horses his own age in races like the Group 1 Rosehill Guineas (2000m) and Group 1 Australian Derby (2400m).

An emotional Waller was absolutely delighted that the decision to set Kermadec for the Doncaster Mile had paid off and he is confident that the win will prove to be the first of many wins at the highest level for the exciting colt.

“It is an unexplainable moment,” Waller said.

“He is a Group 1 horse and he proved that today, but it won’t be his last one.

“He has won his race and being a colt he has a bright future ahead.

“It is only made possible when you have a great team of staff behind me, great riders and it is just an amazing feeling.”

Boss weighed in over a kilogram more than the 50 kilograms allocated to Kermadec and will likely receive a punishment from Racing New South Wales stewards.

Hello this is kind of of off topic but I was wondering if
blogs use WYSIWYG editors or if you have to manually code with HTML.
I’m starting a blog soon but have no coding experience so I wanted to
get advice from someone with experience. Any help would be enormously appreciated!

Today, I went to the beach with my kids. I found a sea shell and
gave it to my 4 year old daughter and said “You can hear the ocean if you put this to your ear.” She put the shell to her ear and
screamed. There was a hermit crab inside and it pinched her ear.

She never wants to go back! LoL I know this is entirely off topic but I had to
    tell someone!
