Waller confirmed yesterday that Brazen Beau would contest the Group 1 Diamond Jubilee Stakes instead of the Group 1 King’s Stand Stakes tonight and the leading trainer is now working on having the three-year-old at his peak this weekend.

Craig Williams will partner Brazen Beau in trackwork this afternoon (Australian time) and Waller told Sky Racing HQ that Brazen Beau would have one more serious piece of trackwork ahead of the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

“The horse is exactly where we want him to be, he has put on weight over the last two days and hence for the reason for stepping up,” Waller said.

“He had a gallop on Saturday morning and he will have another one on Tuesday morning.

“Craig Williams is coming out to Newmarket this afternoon to get familiar with the track that he will be working on and on Thursday morning he will work on a watered surface and that will complete his preparation in terms of fast work ahead of his race on Saturday.

“At this stage as you can sense, we are very happy with the way that he has settled in and we are looking forward to the raceday.”

Waller said that Brazen Beau went for a quite trot and canter this morning and the champion trainer revealed that he had been taking advantage of special a salt water pool that allows him to keep Brazen Beau’s legs as cool as possible ahead of the Diamond Jubilee Stakes.

“He was in a salt water pool that goes to just over their knees and at a three degree temperature, so it was very cool,” Waller said.

“It is great for just keeping their legs nice and cool, they stay cool for most of the day and the day after it.

“Mornings like this he will normally do a bit extra in the afternoons like maybe a swim and plenty of water, picking and plenty of care and attention.”

Brazen Beau is currently available at 2015 Diamond Jubilee Stakes odds of $3.60 with Ladbrokes and he is a clear favourite from Mustajeeb ($6), fellow Aussie galloper Wandjina ($10), Due Diligence ($11),  Tropics ($11) and G Force ($13).
