Leading Adelaide trainer Phillip Stokes has included Prince Albert (barrier seven) in the Alice Springs Cup field and she is taking strong form into the race after he took out the Big Screen Video Handicap (2150m) at Oakbank on April 4 and he fought off Novikov to take out the Gallipoli 1915 Perpetual Handicap (1950m) at Morphettville Parks last weekend.

Prince Albert will be facing the toughest test of her career to date in the Alice Springs Cup, but she gets in well at the weights with 56 kilograms on his back and he has the services of leading Adelaide hoop Dom Tourneur.

Another galloper that is taking winning form into the Alice Springs Cup is consistent gelding Adjuster, who has not missed a placing in six race starts since he joined the Rogerson stable at the end of last year.

Adjuster (barrier five) scored an impressive victory in the Easter Handicap (1600m) on April 4 and he suffered a surprise defeat in The Gem Cave Handicap (1400m) on April 11 before he returned to winning form with a narrow in the Chief Ministers Cup (1600m).

The Chief Ministers Cup is always the key lead-up race to the Alice Springs Cup and the likes of Sirbible (barrier six), Spartan Eagle (barrier four), Bolton (barrier three), Differing Fortunes (barrier eight), Pretty Blonde (barrier 13), Cantonese (barrier 11) and Zayak (barrier nine).

One of the most interesting runners in the 2015 Alice Springs Cup field is promising gelding Whistle Stop, who has returned to the Northern Territory after a stint in Victoria under the care of Darren Weir.

Whistle Stop took out the Monbulk Rural Handicap (1500m) at Yarra Valley on February 28 and he took out the Fleming’s Nurseries Handicap (2000m) at Pakenham on March 26 in impressive fashion before he finished second behind the talented Second Bullet in the Nightline Handicap (2000m) at Flemington on April 11.

The Street Sense gelding returned to the Northern Territory for the Central Australia Removals Plate (1600m) on April 25, but he was beaten a long way by Kayno and Lac Bay.

The 2015 Alice Springs Cup field is rounded out by last start winner Kayno (barrier one), Lisa Lefoe-trained New Empire (barrier two) and Jason Manning-trained Sakhero (barrier 12).
