2014 The BMW Tips: Silent Achiever The Value

Silent Achiever is the 2014 The BMW tip of leading form expert Dominic Beirne and he believes the classy mare represents good value to score her second straight victory at Group 1 level this weekend.

Silent Achiever started her autumn preparation with a win in the Retina Specialists Handicap (1500m) at Ellerslie on February 15 and took out the Group 1 New Zealand Stakes (2000m) at the same venue on March 8 before recording an upset win in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes (2000m) at Rosehill Gardens on March 22.

Beirne told RSN this morning that Silent Achiever has had an ideal campaign heading into the 2014 The BMW and believes that O’Reilly mare is an attractive price at her current odds of $3.80.

“One horse that is really, really solid for the race and has come up beautifully is Silent Achiever,” Beirne said.

“I am unsurprised that she has been so well backed.

“Silent Achiever enjoyed a lovely run (in the Ranvet Stakes), and our speed map implies she will again on Saturday.”

Fiorente is currently on top of 2014 The BMW Stakes betting markets at a price of $2.80, despite failing to fire in the Ranvet Stakes.

Beirne said that he is happy to discount the run of Fiorente in the Ranvet Stakes and believes that he is a deserving favourite for the Group 1 event, but said that he would rather back his 2014 The BMW tip Silent Achiever at her current price.

“Fiorente is a fabulous horse once he gets to a mile and a half and beyond,” Beirne said.

“You have to put a pen through that last start; he spent so much energy by the time they had gone 1000 metres that realistically he was never going to finish that race off.

“He is probably a deserving favourite, but he is coming off a flat rating.”

One of the most interesting runners in The BMW field is imported mare Voleuse De Coeurs, who will be having just her third start in Australia after performing fairly in both the Group 1 Melbourne Cup (3200m) and Group 1 Australian Cup (2000m).

Voleuse De Coeurs has been well backed since she opened at odds of $21 earlier in the week and Beirne expects there will be an avalanche of support for the Irish St Leger winner, if the Rosehill Gardens track is downgraded to heavy before The BMW.

“I think that it if is a heavy track Voleuse De Coeurs will start close to a $3.50 equal favourite.

“We are not forecasting that at the moment and I think her right price on a dead track is around the $8 mark.”

Fiorente ($2.80) is currently a narrow favourite in 2014 The BMW betting markets from Silent Achiever ($4), It’s A Dundeel ($4.60) and Voleuse De Coeurs ($7.50).
