2014 Tattersall’s Tiara Tips: Cosmic Endeavour The Horse To Beat

Leading form analyst Adam Blencowe has Cosmic Endeavour on top of his 2014 Tattersall’s Tiara tips and he expects the promising filly to be very hard to beat in the Group 1 event at Eagle Farm on Saturday.

Cosmic Endeavour stamped herself as a leading contender for the Tattersall’s Tiara with an impressive victory in the Group 2 Dane Ripper Stakes (1400m) at Eagle Farm on June 7 and she won both the Group 2 Sapphire Stakes (1200m) and Inglis Guineas (1400m) in New South Wales before starting her 2014 Brisbane Winter Racing Carnival campaign.

Blencowe told RSN this morning that he was extremely impressed with the performance of Cosmic Endeavour in the Dane Ripper Stakes and he is confident that she is the horse to beat in the Tattersall’s Tiara this weekend.

“Cosmic Endeavour won the Danehill Stakes in impressive fashion like Red Tracer did last year,” Blencowe said.

“Cosmic Endeavour comes in with the right profile and I think that there is enough in the price there to have a bet as well.

“I have her marked at 2/1 and we were pretty impressed with the way she won that Dane Ripper there, she really sprinted away from there and ran a good sectional.

“Three-year-olds have a good record in the race and I think that she is quiet a good one.

“I think she will probably get the right run as well, which is going to make her really hard to beat.”

Cosmic Endeavour is currently locked in a battle for favouritism in Tattersall’s Tiara betting markets with last year’s winner Red Tracer.

Red Tracer overcame a wide gate to win the 2013 edition of the Group 1 event, but Blencowe does not believe that the Dane Shadow mare is racing at her best, after she finished tenth in the Group 1 Stradbroke Handicap (1400m), and is happy to risk the two-time Group 1 winner.

“You have last year’s winner there in Red Tracer and I am probably leaning towards taking her on here,” Blencowe said.

“She was ok in the Stradbroke and she is a good mare on her day and well suited here.

“She is the best mare here on her very best form, but I think the preparation and the fact that she has been off her very best form the last three runs means that she is one to take on.”

Cosmic Endeavour and Red Tracer are both available at 2014 Tattersall’s Tiara odds of $4.80, while there has also been support for Chris Waller-trained Catkins ($5.50) and Coolmore Classic winner Steps In Time ($6).
