2014 Caulfield Guineas Tips: Rich Enuff The Horse To Beat

Form expert Daniel O’Sullivan has Rich Enuff on top of his 2014 Caulfield Guineas tips and believes that the talented colt will be very difficult to beat in the Group 1 event at Caulfield tomorrow.

Rich Enuff stamped himself as a horse to watch when he led all the way to the win the Listed McKenzie Stakes (1200m) at Moonee Valley on August 23 in impressive fashion and he proved that performance was no fluke when he took out the Group 2 Danehill Stakes (1200m) at Flemington on September 13 and the Group 3 Caulfield Guineas Prelude (1400m) on September 28.

O’Sullivan told RSN that there is no way that you can knock anything that Rich Enuff has done during his racing career to date and believes that the Written Tycoon colt deserves to be a short-priced favourite in 2014 Caulfield Guineas betting markets.

“There is absolutely no way you can knock anything Rich Enuff has done at this point; he has just improved every run and what he did last start in the Caulfield Guineas Prelude was the sign of a really top class horse,” O’Sullivan said.

“To be able to work early over the 1400 there and still kick away from them like he did was superb.

“There are natural doubts about a mile, but I don’t think that will be an issue for the horse.

“I think that somewhere around $2.50 is his right price in the race and he has all the markings of a Caulfield Guineas winner.

“There is no way that you could possibly knock the horse.”

Shooting To Win has been the best-backed runners in Caulfield Guineas betting and Looks Like The Cat and Almalad are the other horses in the market, but O’Sullivan feels that Merion is the best value runner in the Caulfield Guineas field.

Merion won the Listed Living Legends Stakes (1400m) at Flemington on September 13 in impressive fashion and O’Sullivan believes that the O’Reilly gelding represents great value at his current Caulfield Guineas odds of $21.

“I think that horses like Shooting To Win, Looks Like The Cat and Almalad are all around their right price,” O’Sullivan said.

“The horse that I found that looks to be significant value in the race is Merion.

“He was quiet impressive at Flemington there winning over the 1400 metres and he ran good strong figures.

“He has only had the four starts and he comes into this race third-up so there is definitely potential for improvement there.

“He has the right draw to settle reasonably handy to the pace and get a cheap run and looks as though he will have no trouble running out a strong mile.”

Rich Enuff ($2.30) remains a clear favourite in the 2014 Caulfield Guineas betting market with Ladbrokes Australia from Shooting To Win ($6.50), Looks Like The Cat ($7) and Almalad ($8).
