2014 Ballarat Cup Tips: Count Of Limonade The Value

Count Of Limonade is on top of the 2014 Ballarat Cup tips of leading form expert Adam Blencowe and he believes that the imported stayer represents outstanding value at his current odds.

Count Of Limonade recorded his maiden race win in Australia when he defeated subsequent Moonee Valley Gold Cup winner Prince Of Penzance to take out the Moe Cup on October 16 and he was far from disgraced in the Listed Bendigo Cup (2400m) on October 29.

The Duke Of Marmalade entire is currently available at 2014 Ballarat Cup odds of $11 and Blencowe told RSN that he has the four-year-old rated at a significantly shorter price based on the impressive nature of his Moe Cup win.

“I have got Count Of Limonade on top here,” Blencowe said.

“His effort in the Moe Cup matches anything here on bare form and I thought he was ok at Bendigo last time.

“He fits into a nice little mould here with more than three weeks between runs, which has actually brought about all five of his wins.

“I think this is a fairly nice race for him and he sits out at $11 there, while I have him marked at $5.50 and top pick just ahead of Spinderbella.”

Spinderbella is currently on top of Ballarat Cup betting markets after recording two wins from four race starts during her 2014 Spring Racing Carnival campaign to date.

Blencowe admits that the last start winner is the main danger to Count Of Limonade, but revealed that he was happy to leave the Spinning World mare out of his selections at her current quote of $5.50

“They are the two horses in the race with a strike rate above 30 percent and they are the two horses in the race that go into the handicap with the promise of more to give,” Blencowe said.

“She has the best strike rate in the race and she is coming off a last start win, which only one other in the race can boast about.

“You certainly have to give her plenty of respect, but she was short enough at that $6 mark and I don’t think she can improve her figures enough to beat Count Of Limonade enough if he runs at his best.”

Spinderbella is currently available at 2014 Ballarat Cup odds of $5.50 and is a narrow favourite from Tuscan Fire ($6.50), Vilanova ($8), At First Sight ($9) and Count Of Limonade ($11).
